That is why; the Mission of Tierra Viva is to take a lead in – along with the local actors – the strengthening of the local, national and regional food sovereignty especially of the most vulnerable and outcast sectors. To accomplish this, Tierra Viva is dedicated to : I) Generating and spreading information about the different agricultural and energetic technologies: economic strategies and political systems that affect them, and also about the healthy and self-sustaining alternatives of production, consumption, food and energy. II) Training local leaders to make well-informed and responsible decisions destined to protect the common well-being, health and nature. III) Propitiating the access to healthy eating based on diverse local products free of contaminants. IV) Joining advocacy processes and public mobilization in favor of food sovereignty.
Tierra Viva is a non-profit institution with its origins in the civil society of Cochabamba, Bolivia; dedicated to supporting strengthening initiatives on food sovereignty by promotion of healthy eating, ecological productive systems, protection of the environment and natural resources and education regarding the responsible consumption of energy and food.
Our actions are inspired by the necessity to improve the current food situation through local work based on a deep respect of nature and the quest of overall well being of each community.
As our Vision we aspire to a well-informed society, critical, responsible with their production ways, food and energy consumption, and a defender of the health and well being of their local and global natural and social environment.
